The Dancing Hank that started it all!
The Ultimate Dancing Hank
Have you been considering adding a Dancing Hank routine to your act? Well, now there is no excuse to not have the show stopping power of a great Dancing Hank routine featuring ULTIMATE DANCING HANK!
This truly is the "Ultimate" design! Inspired by the Don Wayne Dancing Hank, this gimmick is precision made and designed with our computer aided prototyping machine to last a lifetime. Many great new moves are available with this gimmick that were not available with older Dancing Hank gimmicks and no rubber bands are required. Make the hanky dance on the floor, fly up to the cloth, wiggle in your pocket, and even dance inside a bottle! Gimmick comes complete with silk, Custom made black foulard, Great video instructions, and yes, we even include the batteries!
Here are some common questions and answers about the Ultimate Dancing Hank:
Do I need a special backdrop to perform the Ultimate Dancing Hank?
No, you do not need a special backdrop unless you would like to do what I call "the bottle move" that is where the hanky jumps up and down inside a glass bottle. To do the "bottle move" it is best to have a "Mylar" or "Nu-lash" type of backdrop that can hide string, (sometimes magic looks like string!) Most of the time I do not perform the bottle move. It just depends upon the conditions at my show. If you are on a stage or platform and you have room for your backdrop, go for it! Remember, all other moves can easily be done without a special backdrop. For more information on Lighting and Backdrops click here.
What is the difference between the Ultimate Dancing Hank and the Ultra Hank?
Since we have so many different hanky products, I am asked this a lot! Please click here for a detailed comparison.
Is the Ultimate Dancing Hank hard to master?
That depends upon how much you like to practice! I believe anything worth doing on stage, deserves practice. There are some moves that you will be able to do right away, others will take some practice. I generally tell clients that an hour a day for a couple of weeks would give you a good understanding of the gimmick.
How close can I perform the Ultimate Dancing Hank to the audience and what angles are bad?
I would suggest no closer than 10 feet away from your audience. I have performed the Ultimate Dancing Hank in small areas such as living rooms, small libraries (right between the stacks!), and even school gyms. As far as angles, obviously you cannot have anyone behind you. Basically the angles are the same as if you were performing a zombie effect.
I am a female magician, can I perform the Ultimate Dancing Hank?
Believe it or not, I have gotten this question! Female magicians can absolutely perform this effect!
I am left handed, can I perform the Ultimate Dancing Hank?
I would suggest that even if you are left handed, you should learn to perform the Ultimate in your right hand because most jackets have the breast pocket on the left side. So as of right now, we do not offer a left handed version.

Hey Sean,
I wanted to give you some feed back on the new Ultimate Dancing Hank you sent me.
I have been using your new version in the show for the past five months and all I can say is Wow! As you know I've been successfully performing your original Hank since you first put it out. It has become sort of a signature piece for me and while working on ships it is the most requested routine by my Cruise Directors. In the past couple of years I moved it to my closer and it never fails to get a huge ovation.
While practicing your new version I intentionally tried to snag the line but no matter what I did it just wouldn't tangle. I never thought it possible to improve on the original but I'm so glad that you proved me wrong. A great creator never rests on his laurels and you are a great creator.
Bravo on another fantastic contribution to the art of magic!
Best, Puck
