The Difference Between the Ultimate Dancing Hank and the Ultra Hank
Because we have so many unique dancing hanky related items, sometimes it is difficult to figure out which item is best for your act. I developed the Ultimate Dancing Hank first and I used that for many years, but I had several customers wanting something that would work better a little closer to the audience, so I developed the Ultra Hank. Let me tell you the basic differences between the Ultimate Dancing Hank and the Ultra Hank.
THE ULTIMATE DANCING HANK
The Ultimate Dancing Hank uses a strong black nylon thread
The gimmick is larger than the Ultra Hank
The Ultimate Dancing Hank is mostly for stage work, however I have used it many times in closer situations (Libraries, school rooms, living rooms) and I just omit the bottle.
For most moves you do not need a backdrop. However, if you would like to do what I call the "Bottle Move" then you would need a backdrop. The "Bottle Move" is when you put the hanky in a bottle, make it dance up and down and then it flies out of the bottle back to you. As long as you are not pulling the hanky away from the black cloth, you do not need a backdrop. So you can make it dance on the floor, make it dance behind the cloth, fly it up from the floor to behind the cloth, dance it in front of the cloth, do the pocket move (where the hanky peeks out of your jacket pocket) and you can have it fly around the back of you and you do not need a backdrop. Most of the time when I perform, I do not use the backdrop and I just eliminate the bottle. However, if I am on a large stage or at a convention I will do it then because it does look very "magical!"
THE ULTRA HANK
The Ultra Hank uses a very strong invisible thread
The Super Strong Invisible Thread comes pre stripped and ready to use
The gimmick is smaller than the Ultimate Dancing Hank
No back drop is needed
Great for close-up or stage
You can do all the moves that you do with the Ultimate Dancing Hank
Please note: The Super Strong Invisible thread that is used on the Ultra Hank, unfortunately can not be used on the Ultimate Dancing Hank. The motor on the Ultimate Dancing Hank is much too strong for invisible thread.
Basically, when trying to decide on which one to add to your act, I would consider how comfortable you are with invisible thread. Many performers use it all the time and are very used to dealing with it. Other performers have not used it much and may be afraid it will break. Of course the more you practice, the more you will be able to be comfortable with the invisible thread. Personally, I use the Ultimate Dancing Hank for almost every situation, I think that is because I have used it for so long, it is hard for me to switch!
